My Journey Through Florida and Michigan
When my best friend Jenn from Orange Blossom Photography asked me to second shoot a wedding at the stunning Manatee Lagoon in Riviera Beach, Florida, I had no idea that this would be the beginning of my photography journey. Despite being somewhat of a novice at the time, I was excited and eager to dive into the world of wedding photography. Little did I know, this experience would turn into a passion that would shape my career.
Manatee Lagoon is a breathtaking venue, boasting a rich Palm Beach vibe while being budget-friendly. The venue offers stunning views of the water and the yachts gently gliding by, making it an ideal spot for budget weddings without compromising on aesthetics. Since that first wedding, I’ve been fortunate to continue second shooting with Jenn at high-end weddings in and around Detroit, Michigan. The contrasting wedding seasons between Michigan and Florida allow us to work year-round, maximizing our shooting opportunities. While the Michigan wedding season peaks in late spring to early autumn, Florida's sunny climate allows for weddings throughout the winter months. This unique setup gives us the chance to experience diverse weddings and landscapes, making every event feel fresh and exciting.
Navigating through weddings in two different states has not only broadened my skills but has also enriched my storytelling abilities. Whether it’s capturing the intimate moments in the lush greenery of Michigan or the stunning shoreline vistas of Florida, each wedding offers a unique narrative that I am privileged to document.
