Capturing Joy: My Experience with The Hands and Feet
Hey there! As a local photographer based out of Fort Lauderdale, I’ve always seen photography as more than just a job; it’s a gift that I cherish deeply. It allows me to capture not just images but stories, emotions, and the beauty of everyday moments. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to give back to my community in a way that touched my heart, by volunteering for an amazing nonprofit called The Hands and Feet.
I was lucky enough to be part of their Winter Wonderland event at Ranch 22, which was nothing short of magical. The ranch itself is gorgeous, with a stunning barn that set the perfect backdrop for a day filled with laughter and joy. This event wasn’t just fun; it was also held to raise money for their vital cause, supporting foster and kinship families. Seeing the kids get excited as they made slime, decorated cookies, jumped in the bounce house, sipped hot chocolate, and interacted with the animals brought so much happiness to my heart.
One of my favorite moments was capturing photos of the kids with Bailey’s dad dressed as Santa. He was such a warm presence at the event, sharing his life story and the love he has for his family. Getting to know Bailey, the co-founder of The Hands and Feet, was truly inspiring. She shared her passion for supporting foster and kinship families, and I was blown away by her journey. In just five years, she has adopted four beautiful children and fostered 23 others. Her family has a rich history of adoption, and it’s clear that her heart is as big as her story.
I felt genuinely honored to be part of this event, capturing the joy and spirit of the day while contributing to such an important cause. I’m already looking forward to my next opportunity to work with this incredible organization.
